The Indiana Chamber’s annual Legislative Vote Analysis is the most complete and definitive publication of a state legislator’s voting record on business issues. Included in each Analysis are descriptions of that year’s most important bills to the business community, the Indiana Chamber’s position on each bill, plus a table of how each legislator voted on that bill. Access each of the past years’ Legislative Vote Analysis by clicking on the year. To view the voting charts for either the House or the Senate, click on the appropriate chamber under the desired year.

Vote Selection Criteria

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has established a set criteria for selection votes to be included in the annual Legislative Vote Analysis. Bills included meet the following criteria:

1. Votes on all subject matter used in the LVA are based on and best reflect the Indiana Chamber’s legislative policy as determined by the Chamber’s board of directors and expressed in Business Issues, Legislative Agenda, or the other Chamber communications.
2. Each member of the Indiana General Assembly is informed of all bills the Indiana Chamber is following, including the Chamber’s position on each bill, the reason for the position and the name and telephone number of the specific Chamber lobbyist to contact for more information.
3. Each member of the Indiana General Assembly is informed of the Indiana Chamber’s position on the issue and bill prior to the vote. This notification was provided in three editions of the Legislative Agenda report and other written bill analysis and positions.
4. Only floor votes for which there is a public record are used.
